SHOPPING TIME!!

The next day, went to Westfield Carousel Shopping Center. It's the largest shopping center in Western Australia. And it's really huge. It's just one storey. Level two is cinema and more parking space.

Perhaps the area is around Vivo City times two? There's two huge supermarkets at each end of the shopping center and the usual Mega stores like say Target, Myers and KMart There's a huge craftstore call Lincraft too, which is Singapore's version of Spotlight, where I used to buy knitting wool. (I knitted before, ok..haha.. 2 scarfs before, my house taught me how to and I took almost 2 months to complete one piece)

It's actually a short drive from my place. I have been there umpteen times and I never failed to get out of the place without getting anything. And here I was here again, shoppping like crazy that I did not bother to take any pictures of the place. Lol. But anyway, today purchases was just a dress (though I doubt I ever wear something so summery as that) and a pair or pants that was on like crazy offer. It's a store that looks almost like Topshop, just that it's a different brand. Called Forever New. Just AUD 4.95 each. Where can you find these kind of prices in SG?

So next dinner, drove off to Concas, famous for their Chilli Mussels off Shepperton Road. I heard raves about it for so long now finally I came to try it. Gosh, the place is the old, the decor, the chairs, tables and even the store people are old. Lol. But I don really care about the ambiece at that time. Food was more important. Hee.

I ordered the small chilli mussels, but it was such a big bowl that I thought the person gave us a large order. I ordered a chicken burger too in case the mussels are not not enough. And it turned out to be a GIANT chicken burger.

I BYO (Aussie signs has BYO signs outside their stores which means ' Bring Your Own'') my own Feral White beer that I bought from the earlier day Swan Valley Tour. Famous chilli Mussels and award winning beer, what a feast.

The food looks and taste so good that I didn't bother to make sure that I took shots clear enough to uploaded here. The garlic bread seems handmade too and it taste great, not the usual strong flavoured ones here.

Now I understand why the raves, despite the lack of ambience. The chilli mussels' sauce is rich, it has herbs and spices in the tomato paste then, I think there's white wine inside too. The spicy chilli mussels and spicy beer combination proved to be too much of a kick for me. My eyes were watery half way the meal.

While enjoying my meal, I saw the old grandpa scrubbing the mussels at the kitchen, literally scrubbing the mussel one by one.And there's one whole sink full of them. Tough work. Wow. No wonder the prices increased so much too.
