Continued my Food and Wine Trail after my picnic lunch.t's almost 3 pm..and the shops close like 4.30 pm so I have no choice but to skip some of the places that I intended to go like Houghton (another famous winery) and a farm where they produced goat milk and cheese.

Instead, I went off to two wineries cos they are just right opposite each other..hahaha..lan jiu gui..

8th stop:Ledaswan Organic Winery

It's the smallest winery in the Swan Valley offering tastings and cellar door sales of award winning wines. But the place din really appeal to me so I went off to the one opposite.

9th Stop: John Kosovich Wines

It is the 3rd oldest winery operating in the Swan Valley.

Apparently it's a very famous and prestiged winery, something that I didn't know until I saw the banner. Seems like the winemaker, John Kosovich was awarded the Order of Australia medal for his contribution to the wine industry.

And these are the wine barrels placed there, this is the first time I saw them, there's even the tanks at the side.Usually the wineries are just the wine tasting area and then u get to see some grape growing areas that's all. Oh ya, their wine tasting and sales area is underground...the stairs is really quite shaky..but the place is more unique than the other wineries I saw before. Quite a worthy stop.

And little did I know, the one who sold me the wine was John Kosovich himself. At first I tot it was just the salesman there, u know..hahaha...

And I tried their white wine..and I can tell you it was superb..The best I ever tasted, no doubt. There's no bitter alchohol taste, no sour taste as well.Just pure lovely fruit sweetness.. and of cos, after drinking a sip, I ask the person to give me one bottle. 2006 Autumn Harvest Semillon Verdelho. It's smaller than the usual size wine, only 375 ml. And best of all, the boss himself gave me a $2 discount, cos he pressed the button on the cashier counter wrongly and don know how to undo it.LOL.

5th stop: Elmar's in the Valley

it's the the only Glass Brewery in the Southern Hemisphere. But I didn't find it THAT fascinating lah..so went off quickly

Then next,

6th Stop: Edgecombs Brother

It's a family vineyard kind of thing. I bought their local produce.. Swan Valley grape juice from there.

Then next to my 7th stop: Bells Rapids for my picnic lunch.

3rd stop:
Margaret River Chocolate Factory

I've been here for the second time already but I always need to get back here..for their chocolates cos it's so good. And the whole store is filled with chocolates..haha..
They have free chocolate tasting too.. There are 3 big buckets of chocolate drops and u can feel free to take as much as you want..
Piles and piles of chocolates..
The interiors of the chocolate factory..they have glass panels at the side to show you the making of their chocolates...I was stuffed with a big strawberry chocolate nougat as part of the free tasting..It is nice but it's way too big a piece..and I couldnt even stop the staff..she has already stuffed the nougat in my hands...

My purchases...I hope it wont melt this time round. Last time I was here, it was summer. And I brought back a pack of chocolate gooey stuff.

4th Stop:Lancaster

Next, opposite the choc factory was a winery and cheese place...There's free wine and cheese tasting..too bad I don know how to appreciate such angmoh food. The cheese looks nice but it's way too soft for my taste. The wine tasting took part in a small tent where it likes a bar counter and u can taste the wine and see the full view of the vineyard..quite scenic..

Swan Valley Day Tour.

It's only a short drive from Perth city say 20 mins...it's known as the Perth's Valley of Taste, and it's WA's oldest wine growing region.
Today I'm going for the Food and Wine Trail..according to the website it is a well signposted, 32km scenic drive trail, encompassing more than 80 restaurants, wineries and breweries.

What a cute map..

1st stop:

Sandalford Wines

Some background info: Founded in 1840, Sandalford Wines is one of Australia’s oldest, largest and most prestigious privately owned wineries

Driving in...very nice entrance rite... like some kind of royalty like that..

At the vineyard...

The cellar door...the wines looks good...but the price tag is on the high side...so did not do any wine tasting..in case I really love it and have to spend a bomb there...

So next, went on to the next stop.

2nd Stop: Swan Valley Egg Farm

Nothing much there...went off disappointed. But to let you see a pic of the place.

Went to this Italian restaurant for dinner after my supermarket shopping..

It's a very small yet very lively restaurant. I went there like 3 times already and it's always full of people. I always need to queue at least half an hour before getting a seat..

That's wat I ordered..Sardegna Pizza..A woodfired pizza with mixed seafood, whole peeled tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and fresh diced tomato
Looks very nice isn't it...and it taste superb..

I ordered a pasta too..Carbonara...with bacon, egg and cream cheese sauce...it's very thick yet very tasty..

2nd Day

Went to the local supermarket..my favourite one near my school. At Karawara.
Coles.

..Bought almost one trolley worth of stuff..haha..bought their local produce Cadbury chocs, Arnotts choc chip cookies and even a 1.4kg cereal. That's my favourite cereal.. and cant be found in SG. And I decide to bring one home..despite it might sound silly to buy cereal home.Haha..

And of cos not forgetting my favourite chips... Red Rock Deli. I bought a 10 pack box home.

among several other packs of chips...

I bought something healthy too..hahah..after all that junk..2 giant jars of Fish Oil. 400 capsules each..It's over a year worth of fish oil. and It's damn cheap..only 29.95 each..blackmores some more..

I came back to SG for a year plus already after completing my degree in Aust.. now finally making a visit back there to Perth...

I like Perth alot. It's quiet and the weather's good. Lots of great wine and great food... No crampy buses and trains where you get squashed and pushed around..No sulky service at any stores too..

My 1st Tiger Airway Trip.

Surprisingly, the check in staff were way friendlier than the ones I met at some famous airlines counters...

I almost freaked out when the staff at the check-in counter told me I did not apply a visa to get to Aust. I was on student visa the other time that I din realise I need one as well for a holiday visit there. Luckily, the staff told me they can get one for me at the spot. But there goes my fifty bucks..haha..

Amazingly, budget airlines wasn't that bad as I thought it would be. Just that there's no in-house entertainment that's all.
Luckily I borrowed Da Vinci Code from Fengjiao..wonderful read..keep me entertained for the 5 hours flight too. I already finished half..I intend to finish the rest on my flight back.

My seat was a window seat...enough leg room for me..considering my vertically-challenged stature. But it has its advantages hor...see..The budget airline seats is not a problem for me at all. Saw some taller angmohs...practically squeezing their bodies in the seats..quite a pathetic sight. The captain was very pro too...perfect take off and landing....and reach earlier than scheduled..considering how much I hate the waiting process of taking an airplane.

Lovely sunset ... I wonder can I take photos on the plane at all in the 1st place...but the view is too lovely to resist. It's a pity my camera wasn't good enough to capture the later parts of the sunset..where the sky is almost split into several colours like a rainbow..What I captured was just the reflection of my window...
A small welcome gift at the airport... A red rose...kinda of corny though..haha...but appreciate the effort..The airport upgraded already..with new cafes and layout..It's really much more ''jian de liao ren'' I rem the 1st time I went there, the airport is old and old-fashioned, like some kind of school canteen..haha..
